Activities planned for Workplace Wellbeing Day

As part of Wellbeing day and an overall Wellbeing Initiative across both locations, Irish Cement are planning the following activities:

Limerick Works;

Team Limerick Clean Up on Wednesday the 17th April 2019. This covers the main road immediately outside the plant. It will involve approximately 20 volunteers collecting rubbish.

On Sunday the 5th May we have 35 employees taking part in the Great Limerick Run in aid of St Gabriel’s Children’s Respite House in Mungret. Each employee will fundraise for this event and monies raised will be matched by Irish Cement. We have had a trainer on site speaking to the group on nutrition, race preparation etc.,

We are also taking part in Daffodil Day on the 22nd March 2019. This is to promote awareness around Cancer, consideration for employees who have lost family members to the disease and to help raise vital funds for the Irish Cancer Society through a coffee morning and providing Irish Cancer Society pins, cups, pens etc., for donations made.

Platin Works;

  • Talk on musculoskeletal back problems
  • Talk/workshop on sun damage awareness - Dermatology Nurse.
  • Mental Health Talk
  • Healthy Cooking demonstration - Healthy and vegetarian options every day in the  canteen and cooking demonstration
  • Paediatric First Aid
  • Plant Charity cycle with coaching/advise on cycling in general  - 15th April.
