Activities planned for Workplace Wellbeing Day
SOLAS have a Wellbeing Committee in place and have many activities that we are involved in.
We have been running the couch to 5k programme since 2015. As a result we now have staff who run 5k twice per week before work and at lunchtime. We are currenly in the middle of our 2019 programme.
We have a 'Sli na Slainte' map in our building that we worked on with the Irish Heart Foundation. This maps out walking routes in our work area for staff.
We have a qualified staff member in health and fitness who provides a weigh-in for staff on a weekly basis and provides health information.
We run a 10@10 every week (10 minutes of exercise at 10 o’clock on a Friday).
We have a workplace Choir as part of our wellness menu
We provide fruit to staff each Wednesday (Fruity Wednesday)
We competed in Dragon boat racing in 2015 and 2016 and plan to take part in 2019.
Pilates classes are run for staff each week.
We run regular mindfulness/mental health sessions for staff.
